human culture is artAfterthought, founded by Patrick Semple, rests on over ten years experience in contemporary art practice and a further fifteen in both the publishing and advertising industries.

In addition to eight years experience in publishing and design Patrick Semple worked for seven years as an advertising creative in London for clients ranging from Shell to Amnesty International. He has written regularly for the online magazine Dontasknothing.com and has articles published in MAP and Cake magazines. He is on the board of the Scottish arts organisation Deveron Arts, and the London artists' collective DnA.

Patrick Semple is a practising artist with a studio in South London. His work is largely sculptural and examines our construction of Self from the fragments of our cultural past.
